An inspiring cinematic journey as we collaborate with young french fencing talent
Lilian Nguefack, creating an emotional movie to establish a distinctive presence across social and media platforms.

Using a DV camera, we intentionally embraced the backstage feel and delving deep into Lilian's intimate world. This approach offered a refreshing contrast to conventional sports films, allowing us to get up close and personal with Lilian as he expressed his thoughts, emotions,
and experiences.

While the DV camera provided an intimate and raw perspective, we also incorporated digital filming to take advantage of certain elements that were impossible to capture with DV alone. Utilizing specialized lenses and lighting techniques, we enriched the visuals with striking effects, immersing the audience in Lilian's world. However, during post-production, we meticulously reworked the digital footage to seamlessly blend it with the raw DV footage, maintaining the authentic backstage ambiance throughout the film.

To enhance the storytelling experience further, we structured the film as an intimate phone interview, as if Lilian were having a heartfelt conversation with a loved one while competing
on the other side of the planet. This approach offered an unfiltered glimpse into Lilian's mind.

Photographer Loan Lamoureux played a pivotal role in the project, skillfully capturing backstage moments "on the fly." His candid shots added an extra layer of authenticity to the film, revealing the unguarded
and candid aspects of Lilian's journey in the world of fencing.
